"We have used the model S16TC thermocouple instrument from GEC Instruments to measure air temperatures and seed temperatures over diurnal cycles in growing plants in SPAR chambers from 60 to 90 days after planting.

The temperature data received from this system were stable and precise. We used 60' to 80' of unshielded thermocouple extension wire from the instrument trailer to each of the thermocouple probes, and we did not see any noise pickup whatsoever in the thermocouple signals."
